42nd Street is a spectacular celebration of all that is joyous about musical theatre and putting on a show - a story of hard work, of being in the right place at the right time, of having a dream and pursuing it against all odds, and above all else, a girl meets boy love story set against the backdrop of the Golden Age of the American Broadway Musical.
42nd Street takes us on a journey with naïve and aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer and her dream of making it as a genuine Broadway all-singing, all‑dancing star. Thwarted by nerves, divas, dramas and disasters, it seems that all is lost until fate steps in, along with the odd coincidence and some good old fashioned songs and dances, and hey presto – a star is born!
Featuring some of the most loved and well known songs from the American Musical catalogue – including Go Into Your Dance, Dames, We’re In the Money, Shuffle off to Buffalo, You’re Gettin’ to be a Habit with Me, About a Quarter to Nine, Getting out of Town, Lullaby of Broadway, and of course, the title song, 42nd Street is a true love song to Broadway and musical theatre, which makes it a perfect show to celebrate CLOC’s 50th anniversary and 100th show.
8pm shows 16,17, 22, 23, 24,28, 29, 30 and 31 May

Based on the hit movie of the same name, Legally Blonde follows blonde and bubbly Elle Woods, who, having been dumped by her boyfriend Warner Huntington III for not being ‘serious’ enough, enrols in Harvard Law School, in an attempt to win him back, taking her chihuahua Bruiser with her. On this journey of self-discovery, she makes new friends, gains the respect of her peers, realises her potential and proves to herself and the world that she is more than a ‘dumb blonde’.
An unapologetically fun show that keeps a twinkle in its eye and is 100% pure entertainment from start to finish, Legally Blonde will leave you with a smile on your face, a fondness for chihuahuas and a new-found love of pink!
